KTR embarks on 10-day US tour to woo investors

Information and Technology minister KT Rama Rao left for a two-week tour of USA to attract investments to Telangana state. The main agenda before Rama Rao is to promote Telangana as a global brand and to attract investments to the fledgling state.

Rama Rao will be accompanied by industries secretary Arvind Kumar, Information Technology secretary Jayesh Ranjan and other senior officials.

During his visit, Rama Rao will meet top functionaries of leading pharmaceutical, electronics and information technology firms. Rama Rao will showcase opportunities and advantages the state offers with the global technological and industrial giants and invite them to invest in Telangana.

Rama Rao’s visit will start from Chicago in the Mid-West from Monday and his tour will conclude on June 1 in Bay Area, West Coast. The IT minister will cover states of Illinois, Indianapolis, Iowa, Minnesota and California.

He will participate in several high-profile meetings of trade, industry and commerce bodies. The meetings include Indianpolis-Hyderabad Sister Cities Committee meeting, round table with Iowa Business leaders, dinner meeting hosted by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE).

KTR will also meet top lawmakers of US states, including Mike Pence, Governor of Indianapolis, Terry Branstad, Governor of Iowa, Joe Hogsett, Mayor of Indianapolis city, among others.
