KCR is a formidable leader, it’s tough to face BRS: Congress poll strategist Sunil Kanugolu

The Congress party in Telangana might win about 20 seats in the ensuing Assembly elections, observed the party political strategist Sunil Kanugolu. It is near impossible to face the formidable Mr KCR. The Congress party will be facing a party with schemes, not a scandalous BJP. “In Karnataka, the Congress party won because BJP had no prominent leader. It depended on Modi entirely. But in Telangana, we have KCR and his welfare schemes that are hard to beat,” he reportedly observed sharing his piece of mind with the local Congress leaders.

For quite some time, the Congress leaders in Telangana state are making much noise unmindful of the ground reality. Their political strategist further pointed out that there were no candidates worth their salt in about 50 Assembly constituencies. It will be a great achievement for the Congress party if it wins 20 seats. The BRS has no competition in at least 40 Constituencies.

In a meeting attended by TPCC president A Revanth Reddy and other important leaders, Sunil Kanugolu reportedly said it was not proper for any individual to claim to be superior in the party. Leaders should be careful while making open statements in public, indirectly referring to Revanth’s statement of announcing Seetakka as Chief Minister candidate. One should first discuss within the party and then make any public statement, again referring to Revanth Reddy’s unilateral decisions and belittling the seniors within the party. The observations made by Sunil Kanugolu disappointed many leaders in the state forcing them into a dilemma.
