KCR Distributes Land Pattas to the Poor

Hyderabad will be developed as a ‘hutless city’ in the next three years and all the poor people will be provided double bedroom houses free of cost, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said.

Rao launched the ambitious programme of distributing pattas to a whopping 1.25 lakh people, who have applied for regularisation under GO 58 at two separate functions held at Malkajgiri and NBT Nagar here on Friday.

“There are about 2.5 lakh poor people in the city and it is disheartening that most of them do not even have a house and live in slums. In a city where there is place for golf courses and race course, former rulers did not find place to construct homes for poor people. We are distributing pattas to about one lakh poor people who have applied for regularisation under GO 58 in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts,” he said before distributing the pattas.

“We have already spotted 2,000 acres in GHMC limits for constructing homes. I will go to any extent or fight with anyone for constructing houses for the poor. We will throw away race course out of the city and construct houses for poor people of Old City there,” he said.

Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya and Khairathabad MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy praised the CM’s decision to regularise dwellings of poor in government lands as a brave decision during pattas distribution programme at NB Nagar.

“KCR is working hard to make our state Bangaru Telangana. Giving house pattas to poor people is commendable and thousands of poor people can now live without fear because of his efforts,” Malla Reddy said adding ‘’Bangaru Telangana is possible only with KCR. We should all support him.’’
