Telangana is a welfare state: Harish Rao

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said Telangna is a welfare state and the Government was committed to the welfare of the people. Participating in Patta distribution programme held at the Collectorate on Friday, Mr. Harish Rao said that with the patta distribution in the state more than 1.25 lakh people are getting benefitted.

“People used to live in tension as they were not sure when the revenue officers conduct a raid and demolish the house. Those who got pattas can have a sound sleep from today and they need not worry about future,” said Mr. Harish Rao adding that in Medak District as many as 8,185 persons would be issued pattas under G.O. 58. Stating that only 62 persons from Sangareddy got pattas, he assured people that another 764 people would get pattas in the next three months.

“Medak is in the forefront in implementing welfare schemes. As much as 620 acres was handed over to 270 dalit families by the district administration by spending Rs. 30 crore. Similarly, Rs. 70 lakh input subsidy was also already handed over to them so that they can commence farming at the beginning of the season,” the Minister said.

The number of ration cards in the district were increased from seven lakh to eight lakh and pension from 3.22 lkh to 3.62 lakh, he said and added that the rice offered to each beneficiary was put at 6 kilograms without limit on the number of persons in a family and pension amount was hiked from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1,000.

Lok Sabha Member K. Prabhakar Reddy said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao stood by the promise and handed over pattas to the genuine beneficiaries. MLA Chinta Prabhakar presided over the programme. Collector Rahul Bojja and others were present.
