HC orders govt to stop water release from Nagarjuna Sagar

Telangana movement continued its victories over partial Seemandhra rulers. Within two days of delivering justice in medical seats issue, the state high court has intervened yet again to correct the injustice in Krishna water allocations.

The AP state high court issued interim orders today to stop the release of water from Nagarjuna Sagar. The court ordered the irrigation department to file a counter affidavit within 2 weeks.

The high court was hearing a petition filed by Vedire Venkat Reddy a retired Chief Engineer pleading the court to intervene and stop the release of water from Nagarjuna Sagar to Krishna Delta.

Telangana activists have been agitating from past three weeks against the illegal release of water. TRS, CPI and BJP parties are leading these protests.

High court’s interim order is a slap on the face of Seemandhra government, which has failed in protecting Telangana interests.

This issue clearly highlights the fact that separation is the only solution for Telangana’s problems.
