The leading French gourmet flavourings company, Georges Monin SAS – MONIN held the ground-breaking ceremony of its first manufacturing unit in Sangareddy. Set on a 40-acre land in Gunthapally village, in Sangareddy District on the outskirts of Hyderabad, this unit is an important milestone for Monin in its India journey.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. KT Rama Rao said, “Happy to know that this will be a zero waste and zero pollution plant and is the first MONIN plant in South Asia and 8th in the world. The plant will create 150 direct jobs and an additional 200 indirect jobs for the local youth of Telangana.”
The Minister added that many companies from different parts of the world are setting up centres in the state and with the addition of MONIN, Telangana’s food processing ecosystem has gone a notch up.” He also remarked that out of 8 states visited, MONIN chose Telangana which is a testament to the development of the state.
“India, over the last few years, has become a top-priority market and this has propelled us to establish a wholly owned subsidiary in India,” said Mr. Olivier Monin. He further added “India is an important market for MONIN – not only in terms of its untapped commercial potential, but also because of the thrill of serving a country already brimming with diversity, talent and innovation. This facility will help us in our expansion plans and also to achieve our goal of providing premium beverage solutions to our partners worldwide.”
In Phase -1, MONIN plan’s is to build a 2,00,000+ sq. ft. build-up area that will house the MONIN India Headquarters, the all-inclusive R&D centre and a production unit. This state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will primarily cater to the India customer base and the neighbouring South Asia markets. The place is being designed to serve the market needs of all these territories. Setting the stage for the Flavour Renaissance, the facility is a step forward in the gourmet journey of India.
Elaborating on this mega project Mr Germain Araud, Managing Director, Monin India said, “We are very bullish on India’s prospect for developing our Brand with a very high composition of young population, who are always eager to explore new flavours. One of the key reasons to set-up an R&D and manufacturing base in India is to cater to our Key Customers’ demand more efficiently with tailor-made preparations. Further, local flavours can be first introduced in India before we take them to other MONIN entities thereby providing premium beverage solutions to all our partners worldwide.”
MONIN has stood true to its commitment of investing in its project in Telangana. And, with this India Headquarters, Production and R&D facility in Gunthapally, MONIN is bringing in an investment of Rs. 300+ Crores to the state of Telangana in phase 1 of the project. The unit will also provide employment to more than 150 persons directly and indirectly in its Phase 1 plans. Hyderabad is rapidly developing into a key modern city with state-of-the-art infrastructure and pro-business administration system, making it an ideal place for business ventures.
MONIN currently has 7 production facilities worldwide – two in France, two in the USA, one in Russia, one in Malaysia and one in China. This state-of-the-art facility in India along with another in Brazil are the new additions in MONIN’s already illustrious production lines.
