Telangana State Legislative Council chairman Swami Goud said that the Telangana statehood could become reality only through the general strike launched by the employees and called upon the employees to rededicate themselves to achieve the goal of “Golden Telangana”.
Speaking after inaugurating the Telangana martyrs memorial constructed by the government employees at the LMD colony here on Thursday along with Ministers T Harish Rao and Etela Rajender, Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar and others, Mr Goud recollected the sacrifices made by the martyrs for the cause of separate Telangana State. He informed the employees to strive for the welfare of the society. He also appreciated the role of print and electronic media in the statehood movement and added that the government would strive for their welfare.
Minister for Irrigation T Harish Rao said that this was the first Telangana martyrs memorial constructed by the employees in the State.
Explaining about the Mission Kakatiya programme of strengthening the tanks in the State, he said that they had chalked out strategies to utilise about 265 tmcs of water by reviving all tanks in Telangana State. Minister for Finance Etela Rajender Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar, ZP chairperson Tula Uma MLAs Rasamayi BalakishanGangula KamalakarS Satyanarayana, D Manohar Reddyand Mayor S Ravinder Singh and others were also present.
