Election Commission of India embarks on poll arrangements in Telangana

The Election Commission of India has started arranging the Assembly elections in Telangana. The commission held a meeting with all 33 districts’ electoral officers on Friday, discussing the new symbol loading system, checking EVMs and other technical issues. About 16 engineers from ECIL were drafted to scan and restore the damaged EVMs and VVPATs.

State Election Commissioner Vikas Raj has asked the officials to be prepared for the election work. According to him, the draft rolls of voters would be published on August 2 and the final roll list on August 4. It was decided to appoint 18 nodal officers for the purpose.
