Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who addressed a public meeting at Manthani constituency on Friday ignored the statue of veteran party leader and former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao which is located close to the public meeting. It was PV Narasimha Rao who breathed a new lease of life into the party at a time when the party was on the verge of extinction in ’90s. It was he who provided a ray of hope to crores of people in the country.
PV was an intellectual and polyglot who drove the party single-handedly and strengthened the Congress party. Due to his economic policies, the party got some public patronage. PV was a four-time MLA of Manthani where Rahul Gandhi attended the public meeting. But he did not bother to garland the statue of the late leader.
Mr Narasimha Rao served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and served the party in many capacities. The Congress party and its leaders owe a lot to him. Contrary to that, it was the BRS party that accorded recognition to the late PV, the son of Telangana who made the people proud. The party made PV’s daughter Vani Devi an MLC and organised his birth anniversary celebrations across the globe.
Sadly, the Congress leaders refuse to recognise the contributions of late PV and his services to the party and the country. The Congress leaders lacked morals and ethics. Their policy is use and throw. A young leader like Mr Rahul Gandhi should conduct himself in an acceptable way to the public and respect their sentiments. Unfortunately, he is surrounded by unscrupulous elements and one cannot expect any decency and decorum from him and his company of friends.
