The recent state budget, which allocated only Rs.4,084.43 crores to the RTC, directed these funds to the Mahalakshmi scheme instead. Promises of new buses to meet increased traffic demands remain unfulfilled, with no budget allocations made. Concerns are growing over the unaddressed Rs. 950 crore needed for subsidized bus passes and the Rs. 1,782 crore required for other needs.
