The people of Telangana will experience scheduled power outages from today. The two-hour power cut will continue at least till February 10 in Hyderabad and other parts of the state. Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) has released a detailed schedule of the power cuts and the areas which will be affected by the outage.
The TSSPDCL has announced the power shutdown citing annual maintenance work to meet the electricity demand in the summer season. According to the electricity authorities, the annual maintenance work includes repairing sub stations, power lines, and cutting down trees. However, many are questioning the Congress government on how the previous BRS government carried out the annual maintenance without scheduled outages.
The people are criticizing that the Congress government is resorting to load shedding and it has utterly failed in providing uninterrupted electricity. Since a few days, power cuts have become a routine in villages.Now with the scheduled outages, the public feel that the government is preparing them for a‘ dark’ future.
