Complaints have been flooding in from farmers who have not yet received loan waivers. The BRS Party WhatsApp number 8374852619, set up for the purpose of loan waiver complaints, received nearly 30,000 complaints within just 20 hours.
These complaints stand in stark contrast to the Congress government’s claims about the loan waiver scheme. Farmers from various districts across the state have been reporting to the WhatsApp number that they have not received the promised loan waivers.
Despite assurances from CM Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, and Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswar Rao, the complaints suggest otherwise. Farmers are anxious that their loans are not being waived due to minor technical discrepancies. Any mismatch in requirements such as the Aadhaar card, ration card, family name in the bank account, real name, and the mention of caste, etc. has excluded many farmers from the scheme.
One example comes from Kadavendi village in Devaruppula mandal of Jangaon district. A farmer named Peddiraju Goud reported that while his Aadhaar Card and Pattadar Passbook name match, the bank has his name listed as Peddiraja. During KCR’s tenure, Rythu Bandhu and loan waiver money were deposited into his account, but under the Congress government, his loan was not waived due to the name discrepancy.
Another farmer, Kalvakolu Surender Reddy from Kongarakalan, reported having a crop loan that has not yet been waived. Similarly, Akula Damodar from Adivenkatapur Village in Choudaram Mandal, Vikarabad District, has a crop loan of Rs. 54,000 that remains unwaived. Additionally, Darawat Kishore from Thorrur in Palakurthi Constituency mentioned having a debt of Rs. 26,000. His loan was not waived because he does not have a ration card.
These instances reflect the widespread issues farmers are facing and raise questions about the effective implementation of the loan waiver scheme.
