Scores of BC leaders – ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other senior functionaries of the ruling BRS party closeted on Thursday. They met at the residence of Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and discussed how to go about it in the ensuing Assembly elections. As the Congress and BJP are playing the BC card, the leaders of the ruling BRS are trying to keep their flock together. Minister G Kamalakar, Srinivas Goud, MLC L Ramana, Legislative Council vice chairman B Prakash and several others attended the meeting.
Later, speaking to the media persons, Mr Srinivas Yadav said they would unite all the BC communities against the Congress party. Soon a massive public meeting will be organised to expose the Congress party and its tricks to woo the BCs with false promises. “We the BCs are not slaves to any party or leader. We are great in numbers and can influence the outcome of any election. The Congress leaders should stop their tricks dividing the BCs,” he said. The BC leaders faulted TPCC leader A Revanth Reddy over his remarks on the free power supply. They demanded an apology to the farmers and withdraw his statements.
Minister Gangula Kamalakar said the BCs have great self-respect and they are backing their patron Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. “It is disgusting to see the Congress leaders humiliating the BCs who constitute 56 per cent of the population. They will teach a lesson to Revanth Reddy and his party soon,” he said. The BC leaders accused the followers of Revanth Reddy of making phone calls to BRS party workers and using filthy language against them and issuing threats. “We will give a tit for tat,” they warned.
