The BJP leaders who made tall claims of unseating the BRS party and rebuked CM KCR and his family members find themselves in disarray. Every leader claims to be indispensable to the party and just because of his contribution, the BJP breathed a new lease of life in Telangana. There seems to be no end to the bragging and damage being caused to the party that is claimed to be very disciplined and ideologically strong.
The ongoing war between Bandi Sanjay, the state unit president and his rivals continues to damage the party. Meanwhile, others too joined the bandwagon. Now Dubbaka MLA M Raghunandan Rao openly claims that if not for his victory in a by-election, the BJP would have remained a non-entity. His victory gave a new lease of life to the party. He said he had asked for a national spokesperson position but the party high command just ignored his appeal. He contends that the party’s high command is engaging Eatela Rajender and K Rajagopal Reddy but is not involving him in any meeting.
The new entrant D K Aruna was made national general secretary but he was ignored again and again. Rumours in social media and mainstream media are abuzz with a possible change of guard in the state and plum posts to some leaders from Telangana state keeping in view the ensuing Assembly elections. No leader at the national unit of the party is vocal about internal bickering and groupism in the Telangana state unit. There are rumours also about some leaders deserting the party to join Congress or BRS ahead of elections. Many confide privately that they are not happy with the way the party leadership is functioning. There is no personal freedom or recognition.
