An opinion poll conducted by Telugu News Channel TV5 predicts that Telangana Rashtra Samithi will win comfortable in Parakala bypolls. The survey was conducted between May 1st and 10th in all the 18 constituencies going for bypolls.
In Parakala, TRS party is leading with a 33.8% vote share. What is interesting to note that BJP, another party vying for the Telangana vote, was placed second with a 19.1% vote share.
Sitting MLA Konda Surekha, who had resigned in support of YS Jaganmohan Reddy stood a poor third with 17.3% vote share. Congress and TDP are going to repeat their dismal performance in Parakala with 14.3% and 9.7%
The survey has proved several things. The first and foremost thing is that inspite of a split in the Telangana vote, it is the Telangana parties which are going to stand first and second in any election in the Telangana region.
The second most important thing is that Congress and TDP are not going to recover as long as they don’t come clean on Telangana issue.
The survey is definitely a good boost to TRS which has just announced the candidature of Molugoori Bikshapathy.
