The unbecoming PM drops a bombshell on Telangana farmers

PM Mr Modi seems to be getting down to a street fight with the states he does not like, for instance, the Telangana.
His discrimination against the state continues – now the Central government decided to cut down the supply of fertilisers due to the state.

The Telangana farmers got a total of 20.50 lakh tonnes of various fertilisers in the last summer season and this time, the Centre decided to supply only 16.21 lakh tonnes. The urea quota was 8.50 lakh tonnes last year and this year is 7.89 lakh tonnes, which means a reduction of 61,000 tonnes. The complex fertilisers which Telangana got last year were 8.10 lakh tonnes and are now reduced to 5.76 lakh tonnes – a cut of 2.34 lakh tonnes.

Due to the attitude of the BJP government at the centre, this year the farmers of Telangana would have to face a severe shortage of fertilisers. The extent of paddy cultivation last year was 35.84 lakh acres following the restrictions of the BJP government. This year it was actually expected an increase in the extent of paddy cultivation but there is no hope as the centre decided to drastically reduce the fertiliser supplies to Telangana.

The farmers were demanding that the centre should reconsider its decision and ensure enough supplies of fertilisers this time without any restrictions. As the ruling TRS government under the stewardship of chief minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao took a lot of initiatives that resulted in the phenomenal production of paddy and other agricultural produce.

However, the centre refused to procure paddy and got into a tussle with the state government. The union ministers mocked the state government officials and public representatives and resorted to cheap politics.
