Even Nero would have reacted to this kind of genocide, but not our own Congress leadership. As hundreds of Telanganites are laying down their lives, Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh are sitting like wax statues. It is a shame that this country has such inept, heartless and cruel leadership. These suicides are actually murders done by the Congress-led UPA government. This is literally genocide.
No other country would have tolerated this kind of human tragedy to occur because of inaction of leadership.
After promising in both the houses of parliament that the process of formation of Telangana would be initiated, the Congress party has failed to keep up its promise. The reason they show is a lack of consensus in Andhra Pradesh. But, consensus on state creation is not a constitutional requirement.
The Congress party leadership is unnecessarily complicating the issue by insisting on a resolution in the state assembly. In a house where Andhra and Rayalaseema have 175 assembly seats and Telangana has 119 assembly seats, how will a resolution be passed? Isn’t this a tyranny of the majority? Isn’t this what our forefathers wanted to avoid? This is the exact reason why the right to create a new state was given to the Parliament and not to the state assembly.
Yet, Congress leadership is prevaricating. The reason is quite simple, the money bags of Seemandhra plutocrats are actually carrying more weight than the popular opinion of 3.5 crore Telanganites.
Being a woman, we ask Sonia Gandhi to have a look at this image of Yadagiri’s mother performing the last rites of her son. There are hundreds of unfortunate mothers like her in Telangana who have lost their sons and daughters.
As a person who has suffered personal tragedy in her own life, we request UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to try and understand their anguish. These hapless mothers have suffered this colossal loss because of your indecision on Telangana statehood.
And their anger will definitely singe the Congress party.
