SKC Case Adjourned to 17th Feb

The AP state high court has adjourned the case seeking full disclosure of SKC report to 17th February.

This case was filed by the Nizamabad Ex-MP and veteran Telangana leader Mr. Narayan Reddy about a couple of weeks back.

Justice Srikrishna Committee, had submitted a sealed cover containing information on Law and Order implications of granting statehood to Telangana. This forms the Chapter 8 of the SKC report. It is widely believed that this is the crucial chapter that is contributing to the delay in Telangana formation

The methodology adopted in preparing this secret chapter has come under severe scrutiny by Telangana intellectuals. The member secretary of SKC, Mr Duggal had penned this chapter after meeting one-on-one with officials of 17 districts of Andhra Pradesh.

It defies logic as to why only 17 districts were chosen for this exercize while AP has 23 districts. Another disturbing aspect of this secret report is that only Duggal has prepared this report which is against the spirit of constituting this 5-member committee.

Last week, the state high court had asked the central attorney general to appear before the court and also submit the sealed cover for its consumption.

The central attorney general Mr.Vahanavati, appearing on behalf of union government has informed the court that since state division is a union subject, he needs to seek clarification from the union govt before handing over the contents of the SKC’s sealed cover to the high court.
