The RTC employees in Telangana have ramped up their demands to fulfill the promises made by the Congress party during the Assembly elections. Across the state, RTC staff are attending duty wearing black badges as a form of protest. They are also staging demonstrations in front of depots, urging the government to address their concerns.
The workers are pressing for the release of pending PRC dues and the introduction of electric buses. Pamphleats outlining their demands are being distributed, which include the appointment of 3,000 new staff members, a promise that has seen no progress in the past three months.
The TGSRTC staff held a protest, reiterating their demands for the settlement of outstanding pay scale issues and the release of bond money. Additionally, they are calling for the merger of RTC with the state government to secure their future, a process initiated by the previous BRS government.
