Rest assured under CM KCR rule, Mr KTR tells women.

 

The TRS party working president and IT minister Mr K T Rama Rao said the chief minister Mr KCR is taking every step to protect the interests of women in the state.

Urging them to tie Rakhi to portraits of Mr KCR, the minister said the state government has decided to give 10 lakh more pensions from August 15 including those who completed 57 years of age as promised by the chief minister.

Mr Rama Rao held a zoom meeting with the women beneficiaries of various schemes and self-help groups.

The pension which was a mere Rs 200 was increased by ten times by Mr KCR after the formation of separate Telangana. A total of 14 lakh women – single women, beedi workers, and widows are getting pensions. “Efforts are being made to infuse confidence among women and empower them economically,” he said.

The state government introduced 300 ambulances that benefitted 10.85 lakh far. A total of 13,700 new mothers were given KCR kits each worth Rs 2,000. The government is also giving cash of Rs 13,000 for the girl children and Rs 12,000 for baby boys.

The Arogya Laxmi scheme is benefitting 5.18 lakh infants, 21.58 lakh pregnant women, and 18.96 lakh new mothers.

The Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana Laxmi schemes benefitted a total of 12,87,588 lakh girls as each is given Rs 1,00,116 at the time of marriage.

Mr Rama Rao lamented that the much-awaited 33 percent reservation for women in law-making bodies remained on paper to date. The Telangana Assembly has passed a resolution to this effect already. However, the ruling TRS government in Telangana is implementing the 33 percent reservation for women in nominated posts.

The participants were jubilant about having a conversation directly with the minister through zoom. They lauded the KCR kits, Shadi Mubarak, Kalyana Laxmi schemes and said they are most important for women.
