Police Stations in Telangana resemble corporate offices

One of the major initiatives of the Telangana government soon after the formation of the state was strengthening the police department. The police housing board had taken up the construction of 139 police stations of which 87 buildings were completed. In the newly formed districts, 23 new buildings for the district police office were taken up in 23 districts. A total of Rs.654.50 crore was allocated for the purpose.

On seven-acre land, a 20-floor Command Control Centre was built with Rs. 580 crore in Hyderabad which is the first of its kind in the country. In terms of crime control and adoption of modern technology, the Telangana police department was ranked first by the India Justice Report in 2022. This amply proves that the Telangana model is necessary for the whole of the country.

The Telangana police were using the latest technology such as facial recognition technology that put the state police on the highest pedestal. As per the Telangana socio-economic survey 2023, there are 10.14 lakh Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTVs) of which 4,40,299 function in Hyderabad the only state in the country to have so many cameras.
