How can a person like Jayaprakash Nayarana remain calm when others are sweating out reaping rich harvests? Perhaps, he is not aware of the adage that if something is impossible for you, you should not disturb others doing it. When Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao proved his mettle by achieving separate statehood to Telangana region and bringing his party to power twice and winning the hearts of the masses, Jayaprakash Narayana is unable to stomach the unfolding development before his eyes.
Like all other intellectuals and leaders of Andhra Pradesh, Jayaprakash Narayana dismisses the Dalit Bandhu scheme as an unthoughtful scheme. “It is not good to spend public money for temporary gains. It is not good to dole out money like kings and nizams,” is his contention. But sadly, Jayaprakash Narayana missed reading the inspiring success stories of Dalit Bandhu. It is time he reads them at least now.
His other gospel on the gigantic irrigation project of Kaleshwaram is also unfounded. He says it entails heavy consumption of power and makes farming unviable. He favoured bore wells for the Kaleshwaram project. He forgot to give a thought to how much power the bore wells catering to the 45 lakh acres would consume. Did he think about whether there is so much groundwater available? Did Jayaprakash Narayana ever see the project? Does he know how it rejuvenated the almost defunct SRSP? Does he possess field-level knowledge? Is he not aware of the assertions of CM KCR on salient features of the prestigious Kaleshwaram project?
Mr Jayaprakash Narayana who founded the Lok Satta organisation which was perceived as a thinktank. Ironically, he does not have the nobility to appreciate even a single decision of BRS government in Telangana. He seems to be busy searching for loopholes all the time only to see Mr KCR and his regime defamed. Thankfully people of Telangana are nobler than him.
