Opposition leaders denounce BJP

Scores of leaders of several opposition parties decried the increasing harassment by the central investigative agencies and accused the BJP of targetting opposition parties in the country.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar said the aim of the BJP is to obliterate the opposition in the country and bring one-party rule. Hence the harassment of leaders using central government agencies. People who are witnessing the deeds of the BJP are vexed by its greed for power.

Rajya Sabha member and eminent advocate, Kapil Sibal accused the BJP of targetting the states where the opposition parties were in the ruling. The RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav left the post of chief minister many years ago. Now when the RJD and JDU are trying to forge an alliance, the BJP is unable to stomach the development. Hence, it is targeting the RJD leader and his family foisting false cases.

Aam Admi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha said the BJP was trying to establish an autocratic rule in the country. It is trying to see that there is one nation, one leader, and one party. About 85 percent of cases booked by CBI since 2014 when BJP came to power pertained to only leaders of opposition parties, he pointed out.

The ED has served summons to Trinamool Congress leader Anubratha Mandal’s daughter Ms. Sukanya and arrested another TMC youth wing leader Shantha Benarjee after eight hours of investigation.

The ED officials raided the residence of NCP leader and former minister Hasan Mushraf in Kagal in Maharashtra and served a summons for the second time within two month period. The cases against him were based on the comments made by BJP former MP Kirit Somaiah. People in large numbers gathered there and raised slogans against the BJP accusing it of targeting the select leaders across the country.

AAP leader and former deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia said the BJP government may arrest the leaders but cannot take away their spirit. He said he is mentally strong. The British rulers also tortured the freedom fighters but failed to engulf their spirits.

Samajwadi Party leader and Uttar Pradesh former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said BJP will meet the same fate as that of Congress soon. People will put a full stop to the bulldozer governance in the country.

CPI general secretary K Narayana said if BRS MLC Kavitha says ‘Jai Modi’ she will be relieved from all cases. The BJP is terrifying people and leaders. The time has come for the BJP to go, he said.

AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi said the BJP government and Modi are taking revenge against Telangana CM KCR and his family. As Telangana is witnessing rapid development, unable to stomach the growing public patronage of Mr KCR, the BJP has been hatching a series of conspiracies to bring him down.
