No room for complacency, there is a lot more to do: CM KCR in Gadwal

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has told people not to be complacent and there is much more to do. Another five years of work will put the Telangana state in an unbeatable position. Mr KCR addressed a massive public meeting at Jogulamba Gadwala district after inaugurating the Integrated District Office Complex (Collectorate) and District Police Office and BRS party office on Monday.

KCR said the standard of living had been raised and life changed for much better after the formation of separate Telangana. There were times when the young and old women trekked kilometres with plastic tumblers for drinking water. The drinking water was supplied once in 14 days in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district. Mission Bhagiratha solved that problem, and now women are happy to draw water from taps in their homes.

Similarly, Mission Kakatiya helped revive village tanks and thus gave a fillip to agricultural activity. The people who migrated from this district are now busy with farm work and those from Rayalaseema, Karnataka and Bihar are coming here to work in the fields. “There are so many instances and changes to narrate. But still, there is a lot to do and in another five years, we will reach a top position in all spheres in the country,” CM KCR said.

Referring to Dharani, he sought the opinion of the crowds on whether it should be continued or scrapped. Mr KCR said every scheme and every project is meticulously planned and introduced for the good of the people. But now the Congress party leaders are faulting Dharani and vow to scrap it if they come to power. Dharani was aimed at protecting the interests of the farmers and protecting their rights on the land. It was aimed at preventing the manipulation of land records by middlemen and corrupt revenue employees. “Be careful, if you give them a chance, they will scrap the Dharani. Again middlemen and corruption will be on the rise. Farmers will have to face hardship,” the Chief Minister said.
