The municipal administration minister KTR has said the state government would sanction New pensions soon and asked people not to panic.
Before the formation of Telangana state only 29 lakh people used to get pensions of Rs 200 and Rs 500.
But after the formation of separate Telangana, 40 lakh people are getting a pension of Rs 2,000.
While in the past the government spent Rs 800 crore, this TRS government is spending Rs 10,000 crore. The ruling TRS government would not think it is a burden to sanction another three or four lakh pensions.
Mr KTR said it was the aim of the TRS government to see the faces of the poor writ large with a smile. The state government will soon issue new ration cards and hand over double bed rooms to scores of people.
The double bedroom houses in Hyderabad city cost nothing less than Rs 30 to 50 lakh which the poor get for free. This is not given in any state including Mr Modi’s Gujarat.
The welfare programmes are given to the truly genuine with utmost transparency, the minister Mr KTR said.
He urged people not get carried away by the false propaganda against the TRS government by the congress and BJP on pensions and ration cards.
He said the state government has geared up to improve all government schools at one go as part of Mana Ooru Mana Badi. No other state in the country has launched so many welfare programmes that TRS did in Telangana, he pointed out.
