Massive administrative reforms in Telangana soon.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to undertake massive administrative reforms in the state and constituted a four member senior IAS officers’ committee for the purpose.

After a review meeting on Sunday, the chief minister set up the committee involving GHMC commissioner Mr Lokesh Kumar, CMO secretary Ms Smitha Shabharwal, Stamps & Registrations IG Mr Seshadri and Women & Child welfare commissioner Ms Divya Devarajan. The committee will study the functioning of various government departments, role of each functionary at various levels and existing vacancies and need for recruitment among other issues.

Mr KCR asked the committee members to suggest improvements in functioning of departments that are involved in daily life of citizens such as municipal, panchayat raj, education and health departments. The committee will also study the existing vacancies.

Following the GO No 317 on the new zonal system, as many 38, 643 employees were adjusted in 33 districts and of them only 101 are yet to report to their place of work.

It was decided to fill all the vacancies by taking up a mass recruitment to improve the functioning of the government departments.

The committee will also study adoption of technology and need to further improve to offer better services to citizens.

The experts will also advise on the role of each functionary, job description, use of technology from Head of the Department to field level in each department.

Chief secretary Ms Somesh Kumar, principal secretary Mr Narsinga Rao and officials of Chief Minister’s Office were present.
