Mahabubabad: Chief Minister Mr K Chandrashekhar Rao has said the quaint Mahabubabad town was upgraded as district headquarters because the BRS was at the helm of affairs. If the people preserved the BRS party, they would get more development. The newly carved district, populated mostly by tribals got a medical college, engineering college, collector and SP office. This district has more tribal residential schools and colleges.
Mr KCR said when he toured the Mahabubababad during the Telangana movement, he found vast stretches of dry land with poor farming. There was no water in the SRSP canals. Now, all that has changed. The Akeru and Munneru rivulets have enough water and scores of check-dams. The SRSP canals are full of water. There is free power to farmers now which even Modi’s Gujarat state does not have. The farmers are happy now.
Nearly 20,000 acres of podu land was distributed among tribals and Rythu Bandhu was given immediately. All the police cases registered against the tribals were scrapped. KCR appealed to people not to believe in Congress leaders. They are opposing Rythu Bandhu and free power. They want to scrap the Dharani service. They want to bring in the old days of corruption, middlemen and red tape. “I want you all to go home and discuss with others what I am saying. Decide who is really beneficial to you. What benefits you get from the BRS government and in the olden days,” he said.
There were days when the farmers had to stand in queue for fertilisers which were often sold in police stations. Farmers are exploited by traders selling spurious seeds. “If you vote for Congress those bad days will come again,” Mr KCR pointed out. The BRS leader asked people to vote in large numbers for sitting MLA B Shankar Naik and strengthen the party in the state. Ministers Satyavathi Rathod and Errabelli Dayakar Rao, MP M Kavitha, former MP Sitaram Naik, MLA DS Redya Naik and others were present.
