Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Congress party today, accusing it of a chronic pattern of betraying public trust and failing to deliver on promises.
Addressing the Khammam parliamentary segment meeting at Telangana Bhavan, KTR explained the Congress’s habit of short-lived public trust, citing historical examples and recent developments. He pointed to the 1989 assembly elections, where the Congress won against TDP, but in the immediate Lok Sabha elections, they lost heavily. “This pattern of broken promises, losing people’s mandate is deeply ingrained in the Congress,” KTR asserted. He criticized the Congress government’s one-month performance, alleging negligence in implementing poll promises made to SC, ST, BC, and other communities. He predicted growing public dissatisfaction.
In contrast to Congress rule, KTR highlighted the BRS’s commitment to action and service. “Under KCR’s leadership, the TRS prioritizes the aspirations of the people,” he said, citing numerous welfare schemes as proof. KTR outlined a party action plan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He said that KCR would start meeting the public in February. He also mentioned that party State and district committees would be established, conducting comprehensive reviews every two to three months. Following present parliamentary reviews, detailed assessments of assembly constituencies would be undertaken.
He also reminded the cadre of the party’s fighting spirit and KCR’s ability to fight for the Telangana people’s aspirations. KTR said, “The three-letter word ‘KCR’ is more powerful than the two-letter word ‘CM.’ He emphasized the responsibility to safeguard Telangana’s achievements and development by securing victory in the coming elections.
