KTR Launches Nischint App to Help Parents Monitor Kids

Parents would at all times like to know what their children are up to. Given that these days most of the children, particularly teenagers, are addicted to smartphones, a majority of the parents are understandably worried.

To help them monitor the online activity of their children such as the websites visited, hours spent browsing on each website, incoming and outgoing calls, photos and videos shot, and more importantly, their physical location, a new app has come into the market.

IT Minister KT Rama Rao launched the app called, ‘Nischint’ at the Taj Banjara here Sunday. The app must be downloaded on a parent’s, and his/her child’s smartphone, tablet or a laptop. Parents can set a geographical radius which if their children cross, will immediately send them an alert. The parents can also lock the child’s devices and block websites. “Nischint comes with a solution which gives parents leverage to protect children from anything that negatively impacts them,” said KRT and underlined the importance the State government is giving to cyber security. The minister also said the government will on Monday sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CR Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science, to train cyber warriors.
