Urging people not to venture out of their houses unless important, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in the state for the next three days. There will be heavy rains in Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda districts on Tuesday and Wednesday. Heavy rains accompanied by lightning and thunders lashed the erstwhile Khammam and Medchal districts since Monday evening. The Hyderabad city was worst hit by the sudden downpour as it caused untold misery to those returning homes. Several main thoroughfares were inundated and drainages overflowed stalling the vehicular movement.
Trees were uprooted and fell on the roads and drains overflowed at several places across the state capital giving the citizens a nightmarish experience.
The police and municipal employees were on tenterhooks trying their best to ensure a smooth flow of traffic even if it is bumper-to-bumper movement.
The IMD officials predict the heavy downpour across the state warning people to stay indoors to avoid risk. The State government agencies were put on high alert to tackle any emergency and requested people to supplement the efforts of employees on the job.
