Good news for Panchayat Secretaries, CM KCR regularises their services

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has ordered the officials to regularise the services of Junior Panchayat Officers (Panchayat Secretaries). The performance and experience of the panchayat secretaries should be studied and those who have completed four years of probation should be regularised. CM KCR held a high-level meeting with chief secretary A Santhi Kumari and other senior officers. He observed that due to the dedicated services of panchayat secretaries, the state government bagged many best Gram Panchayat awards at the national level.

The state government under the Haritha Haaram programme has entrusted the duty of planting, protecting saplings and improving overall greenery in the villages to panchayat secretaries. To consider the regularisation of services of panchayat secretaries, CM KCR said the district-level committees were constituted.

Under the chairmanship of Municipal Administration minister KT Rama Rao, a committee was constituted at the state level which would go through the educational qualifications, experience and performance of the panchayat secretaries before finalising regularisation of their services. It would also hold talks with the respective employees association. Mr KCR wanted the cabinet sub-committee and officials to complete the exercise within a week.
