Farmers should brace up to fight against Congress’s anti-farmer stand: KTR

BRS party working president and Minister KT Rama Rao has called upon the farmers to meet at the Rythu Vedikas to debate the three-hour power supply promise of the Congress party. Moved by the five decades of neglect of the farming sector, BRS founder, CM K Chandrashekhar Rao initiated several steps to revive the agricultural sector. His efforts restored the confidence among beleaguered farmers in the state.

The Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bheema, strengthening of irrigation projects, Mission Kakatiya and free power supply among others breathed a new lease of life to the agriculture sector. They put Telangana on top of the country with increased farm production. Mr KT Rama Rao said at a time when the farmers were heaving a sigh of relief, the shameless Congress leaders arrived just to disturb the whole environment. They say the free power to farmers is waste. They bat for just three hours of supply which is far from enough as the farmers contend.

“Without any knowledge, understanding of farming activity and with least bothering to farmers, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy is spitting venom. He seems like Godse in Gandhi Bhavan. The Telangana Congress unit is being controlled remotely by TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu from Andhra Pradesh,” Mr Rama Rao argued. The lopsided policies of the erstwhile Congress regime led to innumerable suicides of farmers. The power supply, irrigation system, seed and fertilisers supply were in utter neglect for decades. The farmers were left to their fate.

The BRS leader said as many as 70 lakh farmers benefitted from Rythu Bandhu and other measures taken up by the state government. It is good to ask them whether they are in favour of 24 hours power supply by the BRS government or three-hour power supply being promised by the Congress leaders. He called upon the farmers to meet in their respective villages and debate the issue. They were asked to compare the days under erstwhile regimes and the present BRS party in the state. Mr Rama Rao was addressing the media at Jagitial on Sunday where he challenged the Congress leaders.
