Farmers’ protests will continue till Congress leaders tender apology: Minister Dayakar Rao

Reiterating the demand for a public apology from the Congress leaders, Panchayat Raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao has said the ongoing farmers’ protest will continue for nine more days. The BRS party leaders would continue to organise the farmers’ meetings across the state and enlighten them on the stand of Congress leaders over free power supply to the farming sector. “TPCC president Revanth Reddy says three hours of power supply is enough to wet three acres of crop. He wants the KCR government to stop 24 hours supply of power to farmers,” he said addressing the media persons in Hanamkonda on Monday.

Describing Revanth Reddy as a broker and mean fellow, Mr Dayakar Rao lashed out at him for criticising CM KCR and the government. The minister wanted Revanth Reddy to remember the days when he was in TDP. He joined others criticising the then Congress regime on erratic power supply. A day never passed without protests against the Congress party then. The Congress leaders should introspect those days. He should appreciate when the KCR government is doing much better in protecting the interests of farmers who were hitherto left to their fate, he said.

Both Congress and TDP failed to care for the Telangana region and the welfare of its people. It was only in separate statehood to the region under the aegis of Mr KCR, things brightened up. “We are going to the farmers and asking them to compare days in the erstwhile regime and the present government. We enlightening them by exposing the dirty tricks and false promises of the Congress party,” Mr Dayakar Rao said. MLAs T Rajaiah, A Ramesh and P Sudarshan Reddy and Mayor G Sudha Rani and others were present.
