Hundreds of BJP cadre and senior functionaries from five Assembly Constituencies in Nizamabad district laid seize on the party office demanding the expulsion of MP Dharmapuri Aravind from the party. Sporting placards that read ‘Save BJP’, ‘Aravind Down Down’ and ‘Save BJP from Aravind’ and raising slogans they staged a protest demonstration at their party office.
They accused Aravind of removing the senior functionaries from mandal-level party positions and appointing his own henchmen. The senior functionaries sacrificed a lot sailing against the winds. They are now being humiliated by MP Aravind. “He served the Congress party behind his father. He joined BJP and hoodwinked farmers and people with false promises and a bundle of lies,” rued the party cadre.
After Aravind joined, the BJP suffered a lot in Nizamabad. The party lost its credibility and voters began hating the BJP, the senior leaders said. The Nizamabad BJP leaders issued an ultimatum to the party leadership either to expel Aravind from the party else they would intensify their stir.
