The state government will begin handing over the double-bedroom houses to the beneficiaries from August first week. It will continue till October third week. Municipal Administration minister KT Rama Rao said in a statement that as many as 65,000 houses will be distributed among the poor and homeless.
It was decided to expedite the works on the double-bedroom houses that were underway. A decision was also taken to construct another one lakh houses within the jurisdiction of GHMC. The GHMC officials prepared a schedule for the distribution of double-bedroom houses. Mr Rama Rao asked the officials to ensure the completion of all the houses at the earliest possible time. They should monitor the process at regular intervals.
