The state government has issued directives to the Collectors of all districts, emphasizing the imminent threat of dengue and urged officials to remain vigilant. The Health Secretary held a review meeting with district public health department officials, Collectors, and DMHOs on Friday.
Reports indicate a potential dengue outbreak in 2,071 areas statewide, affecting a population of 65.62 lakh. These regions are at high risk, with a significant likelihood of increased cases in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri, Khammam, Nizamabad, Sangareddy, and Warangal.
Officials have been advised to focus on mosquito prevention measures throughout the state. To address this, 500 special teams have been deployed. Additionally, 42 dengue testing centers and platelet supplies in all blood banks have been established. Special teams have been appointed in each district to tackle the issue.
