Telangana Congress MPs, who met Vayalar Ravi, Central Minister and the emissary from the Congress High Command, informed him that any delay in taking a decision on the statehood issue would be suicidal. The MPs said anything short of full statehood would not be acceptable to the Telangana people.
They warned Ravi that further delay on this issue would bury the party in both Telangana and Seemandhra. They said that by declaring Telangana, Congress can atleast salvage the party in this region.
The MPs who met Vayalar Ravi were Ex MP Keshava Rao, Gutha Sukhendar Reddy, Manda Jagannadam, V Hanumantha Rao, Ponnam Prabhakar, G. Vivek, Balaram Naik, and Siricilla Rajaiah.
Congress MP Sarve Satyanarayana also met Vayalar Ravi separately and also demanded that the Telangana bill be tabled in the parliament.
