Asserting that the BRS would come to power in the country after the 2024 parliament elections, BRS founder and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said Dalit Bandhu would be implemented all over the country.
Addressing the gathering after unveiling the 125 feet Ambedkar statue behind the secretariat building in Hyderabad on Friday, he said one need not doubt about the victory of BRS. He said he was baffled by the unexpected public patronage of BRS in Maharashtra. Similar response would come in other states like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and others.
The BRS aims to fulfill the aspirations of Dr B R Ambedkar and this statue would continue to inspire one and all. The Dalit Bandhu benefitted 50,000 SC families in Telangana so far. It targets to extend the scheme to 1.25 lakh families this year, Mr KCR said.
The state government has decided to set up a corpus fund of Rs. 51 crore to institute a prestigious award in the name of B R Ambedkar. The interest accrued on the fund would be spent to give away awards on Ambedkar Jayanthi every year for those working for the uplift of the poor and downtrodden.

Describing Ambedkar as a universal personality, KCR said every effort would be made to perpetuate the life, works, and ideals of Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. The chief minister urged the SC community members not to get carried away by those trying to divide the people. Instead, they should think and strengthen those who are benefitting them.
Ambedkar’s grandson Prakash Ambedkar, a former MP, who was a guest at the function said after Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he could find a national-level leader in KCR. His vision and welfare schemes should extend to the whole of the country. The Dalit Bandhu scheme is very useful for the uplift of the SCs, he said.
Ambedkar rose above battling difficulties of all sorts and with a great vision he made several provisions including that are beneficial for the formation of smaller states, Prakash Ambedkar pointed out.
