When the High Court gave its verdict to make the Secret Chapter of Justice Srikrishna public, the united AP guys were taken aback. They understood the damage that this secret chapter would cause to the credibility of SKC.
So, instead of expressing their views on the damning disclosures in Chapter 8, they started criticizing Justice L Narasimha Reddy who has given that judgement. They even stooped to the level of attributing regional feeling to the honorable judge.
Adusumilli Jayaprakash, an Ex MLA from Vijayawada made a written complaint to the Supreme Court while the Secret chapter case was still being heard in the High Court. Two Seemandhra news channels – TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy made this into a big news item and have beamed repeated news about this complaint. None of these guys understood that it comes under ‘Contempt of Court’ to talk or write about a case that is under hearing.
Justice L Narasimha Reddy immediately issued notices to Adusumilli Jaya Prakash, Ravi Prakash, CEO of TV9 and Radha Krishna, owner of ABN Andhra Jyothy. The notice asked them to explain why proceedings under the contempt of court act should not be initiated against them.
While Ravi Prakash has already tendered his apology to the judge, Adusumilli Jayaprakash apparently asked for police protection to appear in state High Court!
Yesterday, a few TDP leaders were also issued notices under the same issue. Advocate general A Sudarshan Reddy on Wednesday gave his consent to start contempt proceedings against former minister and TDP leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and a few others who criticised justice L Narasimha Reddy for his judgment on Chapter VIII of the Srikrishna Committee report.
This is a lesson to all those united AP guys who are trying to target the judge personally on the internet forums too.
