Taking strong objection to the TPCC president Revanth Reddy’s call for a protest at the GHMC office, BRS leader D Sravan said it was nothing but a publicity stunt. The people are in distress due to very heavy rains. The citizens were desperate to save their lives and property. They are seeking shelter from nature’s fury. At this time, the Congress party gave a call to lay seize the GHMC office. The employees of GHMC are striving day and night without any rest to save people and clearing choked drains braving the harsh weather, he said.
“The police are on duty round the clock. If the Congress leaders create drama, should the police focus on them or on the people in need?” Sravan sought to know. Mr Revanth Reddy should stop all the nonsense trying to gain political mileage at this hour. Instead, he should ask his party cadre to take part in relief and rehabilitation work. “The Congress leaders forgot their role. They should play a constructive role rather than playing cheap tricks,” he said.
