Congress increases Musi beautification project estimations by Rs. 1 lakh crore in 3 months

Even without a Detailed Project Report or any proper plans, the Congress party has increased the estimated cost of the proposed Musi riverfront development project by Rs. 1 lakh crore.

In April 2024, during a public meeting, CM Revanth announced that the Musi project would soon begin with a budget of Rs. 50,000 crore. By June 2024, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao stated that the Musi riverfront would be developed along the lines of the Thames River in London, with a cost of Rs. 70,000 crore.

Just one month later, Revanth announced that the project, which aims to transform the catchment area of the Musi River, would now incur an expenditure of Rs. 1,50,000 crore.

Many are wondering how the Revanth government increased the project’s estimates by Rs. 1 lakh crore without even laying a foundation stone. Critics argue that the Congress government might be unveiling a new scam in the name of the Musi development project.
