In recent weeks, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been operating his administration primarily from his residence in Jubilee Hills. All significant official reviews and discussions with party leaders on crucial issues have been taking place at his home. Ironically, the same Congress leaders who criticized former CM KCR for not visiting the Secretariat are now silent.
Ministers, MLAs, public representatives, and businessmen are now required to visit Jubilee Hills to meet with the CM, transforming his residence into a venue for accolades and celebrations. A Cabinet meeting was held at the Secretariat on October 26, led by Revanth Reddy, but since then, he has not visited the Secretariat.
It has been reported that for the past two months, the CM has been effectively ruling from home. Recent reviews, including one concerning the BC census, were conducted there, where a dedicated commission was established. Other meetings have focused on various initiatives, such as the sports policy review on October 25 and discussions regarding the development of the Musi River and the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro.
The trend of conducting meetings at the CM’s residence has extended to newly appointed officials, who often meet Revanth Reddy on his way home. For instance, the newly appointed Vice Chancellors and the Chairman of the Council of Higher Education visited Jubilee Hills to discuss important matters with the CM.
Additionally, on October 10, Project Director Raj BR Singh invited Revanth Reddy to the inauguration of the Navy Radar Station in Vikarabad at his home. AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and the newly appointed Chairman of the BC Commission have also made visits to Jubilee Hills for discussions with the CM.
The situation has drawn criticism from political circles, with observers noting that officials, Congress leaders, and even the US Consulate General, Jennifer Larson, have met the CM at his home instead of meeting him at the Secretariat. Donations for the CM Relief Fund, aimed at aiding Khammam district following heavy rains, have also been delivered to his residence by various film, political, and business figures.
