All set for the unveiling of the 125 feet statue of B R Ambedkar, architect of the Indian Constitution in Hyderabad. On this occasion, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao remembered the contributions made by Babasaheb Ambedkar. He said the life and teachings of Ambedkar continue to inspire the generations to come. He faced caste discrimination and untouchability. But he never cowed down and instead, he proved himself to be indispensable to the country.
The entire Telangana vows its gratitude to the visionary Ambedkar for his foresight and inclusion of Article 3 which paved way for the formation of a separate Telangana state. Taking a cue from his teachings and practice, the Telangana government had come up with a plethora of schemes for Dalit empowerment.
The Dalit Bandhu where each Dalit family is given a one-time non-refundable amount of Rs. 10 lakh for setting up small enterprises; the Ambedkar Overseas Education programme where the Dalit students get Rs. 20 lakh to pursue higher education in foreign universities, setting up 1001 residential welfare schools for Dalit children and so on were launched by the BRS government.
As part of its tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution, the Telangana government is unveiling the tallest statue at the prime location behind the secretariat building and on the banks of Hussain Sagar. The statue added to the beauty of the location.
Chief minister KCR will be dedicating the statue to the nation on Friday.
