Union Minister VK Singh exposed the BJP Telangana leaders false claims in Rajya Sabha. He said Telangana has not been granted new greenfield airports. This clearly revealed the centre’s discrimination against Telangana state.
BJP MP Dr K Laxman sought to know from the central government the number of greenfield airports approved in five years in the country? How many were sanctioned for Telangana and if there was any delay in the construction works. In a written reply to this, the Union Minister said that in the last five years they gave approval for the development of an international greenfield airport at Noida in Uttar Pradesh and a domestic greenfield airport at Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh.
In the last five years, eight greenfield airports have been opened at Pakyong, Kannur, Kalaburagi, Orvakal, Sindhudurg, Kushinagar, Donipolo and Itanagar. It is noteworthy that there is no mention of Telangana anywhere in this answer.
This only exposed the false claims that BJP did so much to Telangana. The BJP failed to sanction medical college or nursing college that it decided to set up across the country. It only wants to show BRS as a failure. But despite discrimination, the Telangana government went ahead with its plans of setting up medical colleges in each district with its own funds.
