BJP MP Bandi Sanjay mortgaging the self respect of Telangana

A video clip that went viral featured State BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay hurrying and bringing the shoes of senior leader Amith Shah on Sunday in Hyderabad.

Mr Amith Shah visited the Sri Ujjaini Mahakali temple in Secunderabad and when he came out, Mr Bandi Sanjay hurried ahead of him and brought the shoes of Mr Amith Shah.

Scores of netizens who took to social media including Mr KTR abhorred Sanjay’s gesture.

Some wanted to know the difference between the BJP and TRS and how they treated the BC leaders. What Mr Sanjay did was express his slavish mentality.

The BJP was no different from the Congress party which also treated the leaders from states as their slaves. The Telangana BJP leader sold away their self-respect and that of Telangana people to Gujarat and New Delhi leaders which is a shame on his part.

The TRS supremo and chief minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao’s main plank of the separate Telangana movement was to live with self-respect. He waged a 14-year-long war against the establishment and secured separate statehood for the region in a democratic way. But now the BJP leaders are behaving completely opposite to the sentiments of the Telangana people.

One netizen describing the act of Mr Sanjay as demeaning said the BJP top brass was acting like feudal lords in a civilised society. The people of Telangana are known for fighting against the end of feudalism. Sad that some leaders for their selfish ends are acting like slaves.

Many netizens were vociferous in condemning the act of Mr Sanjay.
