The state government has released Rs. 200 crore more to extend benefits under the Rs. One lakh assistance to BC artisans. In the first phase, the government allocated Rs. 100 crore as against Rs. 200 crore. On Tuesday, Rs 300 crore was released for the purpose including the pending Rs. 100 crore.
The benefit would be disbursed among the beneficiaries by July 15. As many as 5.12 lakh people applied for the assistance. The officials were conducting a field-level study to identify the genuine beneficiaries and it is still underway. Soon the respective MLAs would give away cheques.
