As promised by CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, the state government would give Rs. 3 lakh to those having their own plot for the construction of a home. Named the ‘Gruha Laxmi’ scheme, it would be in operation soon. The beneficiaries could apply online and respective district collectors would go through the applications. The State government aims at ensuring the construction of four lakh houses under the scheme and has allocated Rs 12,000 crore for the purpose. The beneficiary would get the financial assistance of Rs. 3 lakh in three instalments as the construction progresses under the supervision of the officials. Those who are benefitted under GO 59 are all eligible for the scheme.

In each assembly constituency, 20 per cent of houses are reserved for SCs, 10 per cent for STs and 50 per cent for BCs and Minorities. Those applying should produce a food security card, Aadhar card and local voter identity card to avail of the benefit under the ‘Gruha Laxmi’ scheme.
