Abundance of flowing water from Kaleshwaram offers a treat to beholders

Water from the prestigious Kaleshwaram project reached the SRSP flood flow canal. Presently, the canal is full of water to a stretch of 122 kilometres turning the landscape picturesque with water, a verdant belt on earth and passing white clouds in the sky. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has convened an emergency meeting with the officials of various departments in view of delayed and scanty rainfall. A drought-like situation was feared. He wanted the officials to ensure the pumping of water from Kaleshwaram to ensure supply to tail-end areas of SRSP.

The officials are drawing water from the Laxmi pump house to Saraswathi and Parvathi barrages to the Yellampalli reservoir. From there the flood flow canal is being filled via tunnels at Nandimedaram and Gayatri pump house. Now the Flood Flow Canal is full to a stretch of 122 kilometres with a total capacity of 1.5 TMC. From here, the water could be diverted to SRSP on one side and to RajarajesHwara reservoir on another side as and when needed. From Rajarajeshwara reservoir, the Kaleshwaram water could be diverted to Ranganayaka Sagar.

Through the sluices of the flood flow canal, all the tanks on either side are being filled taking the water nearer to farmers. A farmer name Rajaiah of Anthargam village in Jagtial district was all in cheers as the water gushed through canals filling tanks enroute. His remarks went viral on social media as he called the BJP and Congress leaders to come and see for themselves the Kaleshwaram water. The leaders of both parties faulted the BRS government on the Kaleshwaram project and continue their tirade against CM KCR.

The Congress and BJP leaders spread false propaganda misleading people stating that the Kaleshwaram project motors became defunct. But it is not true. All the motors at the project continue to operate pumping the water day and night right now.
