Commemorating the ongoing decennial celebrations of state formation, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has offered good news to the pensioners and employees. The pensioners and employees will get a 2.73% hike in their basic. This decision entails a burden of Rs. 1,380.09 crore arrears and Rs. 81.18 crore every month on the state government. It will burden the government with Rs. 974.16 crore per annum.
With this, the DA of employees and DR of pensioners has risen to 22.75 per cent from 20.02 per cent. The arrears from January 1, 2022, will be paid to the employees. It is expected to benefit over seven lakh employees and pensioners in Telangana state. The employees’ unions and pensioners associations hailed the decision and thanked chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his kind gesture. The employees also thanked Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari, finance department secretary Ramakrishna Rao, and Finance Minister T Harish Rao.
