11,700 2BHK houses to be distributed to beneficiaries in 24 constituencies in GHMC

To fulfill the dream of owning a home for the poor, the BRS government has launched a double bedroom house scheme. They are being built with all the facilities and are being distributed to the poor in a phased manner. As a part of this, the official mechanism has made arrangements for handing over 11,700 houses to the beneficiaries of 24 constituencies in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Saturday at nine areas under the GHMC. Seven ministers, the deputy speaker and the mayor will allot double bedroom houses to the beneficiaries through lottery.

Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav will distribute the houses to 1,700 people in Bahadurpally and Finance Minister T Harish Rao will distribute to 3,300 people in Patancheru. The double bedroom houses scheme provided the poorer sections an opportunity to live with self-respect and fulfilled their dream of owning an expensive home in a big city like Hyderabad.

A two-bedroom house has an open market value of Rs. 30-40 lakh. The KCR government has announced that it will provide one lakh double bedroom houses as a gift to the poor in GHMC.
